All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement that you will receive upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle collection. This document outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance coverage, applicable charges, and your responsibilities for the rental period. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle requires:
- To rent a vehicle in Oldham, you must be at least 21 years old, though age restrictions may differ based on vehicle type, and additional fees may apply for drivers under 25. A valid driving license for the appropriate vehicle category is required, along with proof of identity and current address. Valid payment information and a security deposit must also be provided, in addition to any other requirements detailed in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Details
- Reservations can be arranged via our website, over the phone, or directly at our Oldham office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The full payment, along with a security deposit, is usually required upon vehicle pickup. All prices are displayed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT as applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely by trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of collection, it is important to conduct a comprehensive inspection of the vehicle and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be prepared and signed to document its state at pickup. You are required to return the vehicle in a similar condition as it was collected, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and may incur additional charges. The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as when collected; refueling fees will apply if it is returned with less fuel. Late returns may result in extra charges, so please inform us promptly if you foresee a delay. You will be responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges that occur during your rental period, in addition to an administrative fee.
Insurance and Liability Details
- Basic third-party insurance comes standard with every rental in Oldham. Comprehensive coverage details and excess amounts are outlined in the Rental Agreement. Optional insurance packages may be offered to limit your financial liability. It is beneficial to examine these options closely. You are accountable for any damage or loss up to the excess amount unless additional insurance is purchased. Damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms remains your responsibility, irrespective of insurance coverage.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice given. For precise information, consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Please be aware that late cancellations or no-shows could incur additional charges.
Prohibited Activities
Prohibited Uses of Rental Vehicle
- The vehicle must not be used for any unlawful activities or purposes. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or any other dangerous driving practices. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited. The vehicle must not be sub-let or driven by unauthorized individuals. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. Additionally, the vehicle should not be used for purposes it was not designed for, including exceeding passenger or weight limits. Travel outside of the agreed geographical area requires prior authorization.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire in Oldham is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the rental amount paid in the last 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.

These Terms are subject to the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be resolved exclusively in English and Welsh courts.
Changes to Terms of Service
